B.B. Kings

Blues, Motown, and Funky Soul describes the jazzin live 11 piece band at the remarkably enjoyable B.B. Kings Restaurant & Blues Club in Pointe Orlando. Southern food, cocktails, beer, and shots galore are the delights of the restaurant, while the House band, the BB Kings All-Star Band and Pure Blues Band, provide the jams.

Did I mention that you get a souvenir cup for every cocktail, shot, or beer you buy? Pretty sweet. Be careful when you order your drink. I caught myself telling the bartender to “Rock Me Baby” (aka Rum, Banana Liquor, Melon Liquor, 151, mixed with orange, cranberry and pineapple juices drink) but my friend had a worse experience, she had to tell the bartender she wanted a “Hoochie Coochie”. (Smirnoff Vanilla, Melon Liquor and a splash of cranberry juice)

There is a little character in everything about the place and the bartenders and waiters play along with it. Some will be dancing on the stage with the band. And the singers regularly sing and dance on the dancefloor with the guests. If you like to dance, or if you like to be blown away by really amazing live music, you will love the experience of B.B. King’s in Pointe Orlando.

On a Budget?
Eat dinner at home, then go to B.B. Kings. Pay a $5 cover and enjoy. If you want drinks, the most expensive cocktail is $9.99. Not bad for an excellent live band and a tasty beverage.

I visited this venue once, and had a really great time. I would not, however, recommend this place to go if you want to “catch-up” with someone. It’s extremely loud, and you can barely carry-on a conversation with the person next to you.

To add to your “On A Budget” comment at the end: If you get a hold of the tourist coupon books that are given out all over the area, there are often coupons for BB Kings. I got a huge portion of fried pickles for free with one of these coupons on my last visit.

Akeorlando, I agree and disagree with you. I sat farther away from the stage and was able to chat with the two to three people closest to me. What we ended up doing was changing seats with each other so that we could socialize with everyone and it worked very nicely! It is definitely a loud venue, though.

Watch Me Eat, thank you for the tips about the coupons and the fried pickles! Gotta love free food!
